Lessons Learned #4 – Check the Tea Box

January 14, 2009

This post is part of a series that began here. By sharing my “lessons learned” I hope to illustrate the power of this daily practice of gentle self-observation. Please follow along and share your own.

Just one lesson for today, a reminder: no caffeine after dark.  Which means reading the tea box to make sure I grab the herbal tea.

Cripes – how am I supposed to get anything done, let alone done well, when I’m not getting a decent night’s sleep for more than one night in a row?

Wait, that was not a gentle self-observation.

This compassionate self-care stuff is tricky and remains an ongoing lesson – which frustrates me because I recognize how important it is.

Patience, grasshopper, patience.

[That's the real lesson.]
