Lessons Learned-Day 2

January 8, 2009

This post is part of a series that began here. By sharing my “lessons learned” I hope to illustrate the power of this daily practice of observation. Please follow along and share your own.

I should have explained this is in no way a punitive or judgmental practice. No beating oneself up about not getting it right. Just note in the most compassionate way what might make things better.

And, yes, this was intended to be daily – well, week-daily. It will be. At least I’m pretty sure it will be… that’s part of the lesson of pretty much seven straight days of intense production (glad I met my personal deadline, but this is hardly a model of sustainable work – please don’t try this at home).

1. When you do Too Much, you risk overwhelming yourself and your tribe (that would be you lovely people). Pace yourself for everyone’s sake.

2. Don’t mess with your sleep routine.

3. I believe I already mentioned: Don’t. Skip. Meals.
